Welcome To My Page

Hello, my name is Jacob Jewett. I am an Information Technology and Cyber Security Professional with over 24 years of experience. Currently, I work as a Lead Cybersecurity Engineer for a Fortune 500 company. Prior to my current position, I served as a Senior Incident Response Analyst, Vulnerability Management Specialist and started out as a Systems Engineer. I have excelled as a team player and a trusted resource for any team of which I have had the pleasure to serve. It has been my pleasure to serve my current company for 8+ years now.

My educational background is a mix; I have a degree in Information Systems Engineering and hold multiple Industry and Vendor related certifications. I pride myself on the ability to take on the unknown or unfamiliar and converting it into a strength by becoming a subject matter expert. While I know when to assert my knowledge, I also know to listen to the views and ideas of others. I am fully prepared to admit when I do not know something and am open to learning from my peers. I firmly believe that the sharing of knowledge is essential for mutual success.

Outside of work, I am an active volunteer in my community through my work in Scouting. Serving concurrently as an Assistant Scoutmaster, Unit Commissioner, District Recruitment Co-Chair, Council Technology Advisory Committee Member and District Klondike Event Chair.

I built this site for the purpose of putting myself out there and showing the extent of my experience. Additionally, I built this site as a way to pay it forward. I was honored to have a mentor in High School that taught me what I needed to know in order to hit the ground running in my career, giving me tools I still use today. It is due to this mentor that I have always strived to find opportunities to help others get the same opportunity that I had.

My mentor, father, and Scouting have all played a significant role in shaping me into the well-adjusted man and leader I am today. I take pride in my honesty and care for others. Scouting is an important part of my life, and I strongly believe in the BSA Scouting Program’s continued relevance in today’s society. I am committed to sharing the promise of Scouting with anyone who wants to participate. When I’m not at work, you’ll likely find me participating in some Scouting activity.

On this site, you’ll find not only information about me but also training materials and notes that I’ve created while preparing for certifications or in the preparation of the material I publish on YouTube. You’ll also find Scouting-related material and YouTube videos.

I hope you find this site useful. If you’re here to learn about me for future employment, I hope you’ll see that I would be an asset to any company I work for. If you’re here to start your path in an IT career, I hope that the videos I post on YouTube and the materials I provide here will help you along that path and get you started in the right direction. Finally, if you’re a leader in Scouting, boy or adult, I hope that you’ll find the content I post related to Scouting helpful and worthwhile. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me an email, and I’ll do my best to answer.
